It’s Wendy here, saying farewell. The soon to be former COO, Director of Operations, General Manager, Server, and jack of all trades.
It’s my final two weeks here at Kasa after ten amazing years! People keep asking where I am going and what I will be doing. The short answer is nothing and nowhere for now. I just won’t be in the day-to-day operations anymore. So it’s not really goodbye.
We have been facing many transformations at Kasa these last several months. You may not know, but we quietly sold our Redwood City location after five years of service. Some of our long-time employees are also moving back to their homelands. Kasa remains strong and is continuing on with our two locations in SF and our budding retail chai business. We are in a period of transformation and restructuring, and under Anamika’s fearless leadership, this next chapter is going to be an exciting one!
It’s bittersweet for me because Kasa has been my home and family for the last decade, and I am eternally grateful to Anamika and Suresh. They have given me so much more than just an opportunity to work. My time at Kasa has seen me go from my late 20s to my late 30s. From being rich and child-free to having two children and being broke. Moving from one home to the next, literally down the street. From having a young fat cat on a diet to an old fat cat that says, “fuck diets.” Kasa supported my family through so much. They have given me trust, ownership, and pride. Kasa has been a place that brought me stability and space to grow as a person and professional. Although it’s not really goodbye, it’s still sad for me to walk away and not be part of the daily hustle and bustle.
All my time at Kasa has always been GOOD. I’ve been so lucky to wake up every day and enjoy going to work. Every day for the last ten years, I have felt appreciated, proud, and fulfilled.
So thank you, Kasa! Thank you, Anamika and Suresh. I love you all.
